RootNorth is a partnership founded by two brothers - David, a U.S. Navy veteran, and Andrew, a finance professional. Together, we are dedicated to acquiring and stewarding an American business with care, purpose, and lasting impact.
We believe success is measured not only in profits, but in the positive impact we create. We bring grit, teamwork, and integrity, and seek to partner with an owner who shares those values and is ready to transition their business.
Our mission is to honor a seller’s story, keep the business locally rooted, and create the next chapter of opportunities: enriching employees, delivering value to customers, and strengthening the community.
We believe simplicity, mutual transparency and that aligning both parties on key objectives early is paramount. While every situation is unique, we envision our standard approach as follows:
We see potential in a wide variety of businesses. The following attributes are characteristics of companies that we are best positioned to support.

David has spent most of his career in Naval Special Warfare, serving as a SEAL Officer in various tactical and operational leadership roles. Prior to Naval Special Warfare, he served as a Surface Warfare Officer for two years. These experiences give him a unique outlook and approach to leading high performing teams.
In the summer of 2025, David transitioned to the Navy Reserve. Additionally, he started an Executive MBA to sharpen his business acumen and prepare for private sector leadership.
David graduated from The United States Naval Academy in 2014. He lives with his wife, Rachel, and enjoys cooking and traveling the country in their RV.
I want to buy your business because I deeply respect the time, energy, and sacrifice it takes to build something enduring. As a Navy veteran, I’ve led teams in high-stakes environments where trust, accountability, and mission focus mattered most. I see business the same way — built on grit, relationships, and long-term commitment.
My goal isn’t to flip your company. I’m not looking for a quick return. I’m a long-term operator who wants to carry your legacy, preserve what you’ve built, and invest in its next chapter. I want to be on the ground with your team — earning trust, solving problems, and creating opportunities for your employees, your customers, and the community.
If we move forward, I’m not just buying a business — I’m stepping into a duty. I’ll bring the same dedication and discipline that guided me in the military to ensure your company thrives for years to come. I would be honored to hear your story and explore whether I might be the right steward for your business.
Andrew has built his career across a range of finance roles, serving as both an operator and an investor. Prior to RootNorth, he was Vice President of FP&A at Clarify Health Solutions, a venture-backed software company.
Before Clarify, Andrew held roles of increasing responsibility at J.P. Morgan, Genstar Capital, Citadel and Balyasny. These experiences gave him a wide-ranging perspective on strategy, operations and finance in numerous industries and business models.
Andrew graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2009. He lives with his wife, Kaitlyn, and their two children. He enjoys trail running and fly fishing, neither of which is pursued with much haste.
I believe great companies are built over time with care, discipline, and a deep understanding of both people and numbers. Throughout my career, I’ve analyzed businesses and made responsible decisions. My goal now is to bring that experience to ownership, giving you the comfort of knowing your business will be well-stewarded while you step back and enjoy the rewards of your hard work.
I’m seeking a company with strong foundations, where I can build lasting value alongside my brother and continue the legacy you’ve created. I will bring not only financial expertise, but also care, commitment, and the humility to learn from your people and your journey. I'd value the opportunity to hear your story and discuss if David and I might be a good fit for the next phase of your business.
